Beautiful Piece of Very Useful Apple Tech (as Usual)
I decided to do a big upgrade from my 2013 iPad Mini 2 since it’s no longer supported and is pretty much a paperweight now. The Air 5 is a gorgeous addition to my Apple family. The screen is crisp, the sound quality is excellent and can get pretty loud compared to my Mini 2 and iPhone 12. The metallic blue is stunning and is a nice change from my usual grey and black tech. Kind of bummed I can’t use my dozens of lightning cables, but the USBC charges really fast and the charging block is much appreciated since there was never one included with one the newer iPhones lol. I did go ahead and upgrade to the 256GB since I keep my iPads for so long, it really was the most cost effective option, and running out of space is very frustrating when you get that dreaded notification… especially with such a versatile item like an iPad.I think people need to be more careful when checking out, make sure you are ordering NEW. Don’t click the cheaper option under the more expensive price, it’ll arrive as a used iPad. I ordered a NEW iPad at the full Amazon price (which I noticed fluctuates daily depending on stock, but I got it about $100 less than the Apple Store!) and I received a brand new, sealed iPad Air 5 as I expected and ordered. My only complaint is that I ordered the iPad on 2/20 and it didn’t ship until 3/5 so make sure you’re not in a time crunch when ordering.(Thank you Amazon for shipping iPads to APO/FPO as Apple does not, the exchange has been out of stock for months in store and online, and overseas locally iPads are much more expensive here.)

Great Processor, and Touch ID is Back!!!
I love iPads. I bought my first one back with the very first generation came out. Since then I’ve owned a Gen 3 (original), and Air 2, and now this awesome Air 5.I bought the Air 2 back in December 2015, and have used it regularly ever since. I finally decided to get a new one after Apple stopped updating the iPadOS for the Air 2.I am looking forward to another seven (or more!) years of good service from this Air 5. The specs on that M1 chip are awesome – I’ve used a Mac Mini with an M1 and been really impressed.I have used my church’s Air 5 for a while running Playback (Multitracks) with great results. I plan to use mine to do the same, as well as control my PreSonus AI console.And I am VERY excited to find out that touch ID is back! The top button is now capable of doing fingerprint ID! (Not a fan of face ID.)The iPad rocks. This one looks like it will be a hard rocker!And a big thank you to Amazon for the unexpected sale when I was purchasing. I was in a big-box store (the blue and yellow one) about to make a purchase and I said to myself, “Self, you should check Amazon’s pricing before you buy.” I’m glad I listened to me. At least this time, anyway. Some of my other advice can be a bit sketchy at times.

Powerful Ipad Air
I bought this beginning of February, and while Amazon had a delivery date of end of month, this actually arrived about a week sooner! I will compare this with the Ipad Air 4th gen which I also own.- Dimensions, weight and screen size are the same. (I dont really need 120 Hz)- Screen brightness appears to be a little bit brighter on this Ipad Air 5.- Speaker quality appears to be almost similar between the two, at least for me. Both are good.- 5th gen has more ram (8gb vs 4gb)- The M1 is more poweful than the A14.- However maybe because of the more capable processor, battery life is a little better on the Ipad Air 4.- This Ipad Air 5 Touch ID appears to be more responsive and faster than the Ipad Air 4, also the button itself appears to be more sturdier.I always use my devices with a case so I cant find out if the back of this device is “fragile” or not. Also I havent tested other features such as transfer speeds (write and read speeds), wifi signal speeds, and the cameras quality (for that I use my phone).Overall I find this Ipad Air 5 a good option even better than the Ipad Pro 11 even if that one has better chipset, screen and other features. If you have the extra cash then you can go for the Ipad Pro 11, or wait another year maybe for the M3 Ipad Air 6.

If you’re the gamer type,this is good for it..
I’ve never own apple products till I got my iPad 6th gen. Used it for gaming and it was amazing. After 5yrs it started to give up but most importantly needed more memory. So I went ahead and bought this. M1 chip is certainly a game changer. So much smoother,the graphics are amazing. No complaints other than it doesn’t have the 3.5 headphone jack anymore
but otherwise pretty pleased.

We have owned several different series of Ipads over the years and this is by far my favorite. I enjoyed it so much I bought another for myself. The ipad paired with the magic keyboard and pencil are heavingly for travel work, reading, watching a shows, drawing etc. The keyboard is pricy but the trackpad is wonderful, makes the unit just like a laptop. None of its cheap, but I plan to unload all the other gadgets to off set the cost.

Not quite as good as the fourth generation
The only reason I could not give it five stars is that the battery life is not quite as good as the fourth generation. Otherwise, it is wonderful as expected. The full charge on the battery does not last as long as it dead on the fourth generation. All of the settings are exactly the same, I use it, the exact, same way, as I did my fourth generation. There is nothing that is a different as far as my settings, apps, and usage. The only difference is to do the same things that I did before must obviously be using more battery than what it dead on the fourth generation.

The IPad is amazing, I’m glad I took it for my studies and personal activities. It’s really useful, easy to use and lighter than I expected. The Touch ID is reactive even though I wish it was a bit quicker to react, to be honest. Face ID is not available in case you were wondering. Good screen quality and smooth design. Connectivity with with other Apple products is top notch as always. If you have the budget, I definitely recommend but if not, you can find cheaper options with the same qualities.

I am really impressed
This is not my first iPad. I presently have an 12.9 iPad Pro 3rd generation with the magic keyboard, Apple Pencil 2, and an iPad Mini 5th generation. Both of them have cellular modems. I thought long and hard about upgrading the 12.9 to get the enhanced features M1 or M2 CPU, larger screen, Centerstage, etc. What I concluded was to take the advice of some of the Quacking Heads and consider the iPad Air with the M1 and cellular modem. I am so glad I that did. The cellular equipped Air is basically going to replace the iPad Mini. I thought about getting the 256Gb version but my Mini has only 4.4 Gb stored in iCloud+ so I decided on the 64Gb version.I talk to my wife who is in long term care for an hour every day on Facetime. The air centerstage feature is as good as the tracking implimentation on a Google nest Hub. What really impressed me today was the camera capability that kept adjusting the white balance of the screen that I was transmitting so my face was not blacked out even when the room lights were not turned on. Then when it approached sunset and the room was getting darker, the camera was providing a very acceptable picture quality, In fact the room in the picture was brighter than the room in real life.. After 3 Facetime sessions over 3 days I notice I use the Air for my Facetime Chat not the 12.9 Pro.I equiped my Air with a ZUGU case. I knew that the case had a pocket for storing the Apple Pencil, but a Suprise and Delight feature of the case was a mounting clip that stores the Aple Pencil in the position so it can wireless recharge from the iPad with the case open or closed, and it is readily accessable.As you can see from the pictures the Air is not all that much larger than the Mini but the screen area is considerably larger because of the minimezed bezels. I don’t plan to use the Air with a keyboard, I still have the 12.9 Pro for that. The Air is going to become my portable tablet not my laptop wanabe.

I love this iPad. I’d been thinking about getting one for a while to replace my old Samsung tablet and I’m pretty happy I did. I got the stylus to be able to take notes and write on documents besides of using my iPad to watch series, surf the net and more. Highly recommended. Brand new Apple in its box and all!

Excellent Upgrade! Fast, Fast, Fast!
Started using an IPad back when the IPad 2 was the latest and greatest thing… 2011… Every two years I have purchased a new model. I have also used a work issued model for creating projects, e- learning and screen casting with students- You name it, I have just about done it or seen it done with an IPad, … My favorite Internet connected device by far!My latest upgrade was just made to this IPad Air, 5th edition. I had hoped to wait until after the New Year to update to a new model — old one was still working well enough… But, darn it all if Amazon didn’t take 8O.$ off the price and neatly offer their deal as an early, Black-Friday option. I checked the Apple web site and other well known retail spots, and all had the same- much higher- retail price – So I pounced!The order came to my door about 4 hours after ordered- was turned on, updated, and in use soon after that.This is absolutely the quickest connecting IPad I have used… one of the lightest, and definitely the fastest web surfing tablet I have touched. I like the visual design with no home button and narrower bezels, but was unsure how use would actually be without the dedicated button onboard. I had recently set up an accessibility optioned home button on my IPhone – so after checking the settings on the new IPad, found I could do the same thing. If you are unsure about not having the home button, or concerned an older family member might not have a good experience without the familiar setup, you can make one using the accessibility settings and place it anywhere on the screen you like. Everything else on this IPad Air is a major improvement. Do not hesitate to pay a smidge more for the Air as the tablet itself is well made, beautiful and good enough to replace a laptop when paired with a keyboard and mouse. I do not use the pencil so cannot comment on that, but if you take the time to read about tricks and tips in the new operating system-this one is ready to use for a good long while. Merry Christmas to myself, and no regrets… Absolutely a great buy, a great product, and an overall good order and delivery experience. (be sure to get a case for your new IPad… makes a difference in experience and longevity for sure…)

I’m not a traditional ipad user but i’m hooked
I never thought I’d ever get or want an iPad. I’m not someone who needs it for games or any of that. If I am not on a computer screen, I (will continue to) use my phone. But, I started taking a design class and didn’t want to have four million paper notes or digital stickies. Plus, the fact that I learned I could use this as a second monitor (along with my phone too), sold me. I need multiple screens open for my job so this is a huge convenience. Now, when I’m not on my desktop, I can literally just bring the iPad next to my laptop and I have another monitor. I also use this as a replacement for my kindle to read books. So, while I might not use it for as many purposes as other people do, it’s worth it to me. To top it off, I got sucked in by a great sale at the holidays! Win, win, win!

I need a new iPad and was looking around at the various options and there are a lot of great options but I did have one requirement I want it… The new M1 chip. I already have a MacBook Air with the M1 and it is a speedy fast efficient processor. I also one of the GEN two Apple Pencil, so considering this the regular edition iPad without a choice, and an iPad Pro would’ve been nice but really I’m not a professional artist and I didn’t need all that extra size in space. The air was really the perfect compromise. It is light it is comfortable to use, and that battery seems to last forever!

I like that iPad Air has some of the iPad Pro’s tech. Super fast M1 chip is a big plus! I ordered the “Starlight” color which looks more like “Silver” than off white which some say it resembles.I’m not a gamer so battery life for me is great. Best of all I got the iPad at a low, low, price!Spent a few bucks on a new USB-C charger, longer cable, and silicone cover, but that’s just me…

I’ve always owned apple. I love them for their simplicity & excellent craftsmanship. I was extremely impressed w my iPad Air 5. My first iPad was the initial one that came out which I handed down to my nephews. Purchased the iPad Air 2 which I still have today & works the same as the day I brought it home.So glad I stuck w the iPad Air 5 i needed / wanted an upgrade. The screen size is perfect im so happyits not too big not too small just perfect. I was actually impressed with the size the next thing about the air that I absolutely love is the weight it’s not that heavy that’s important to me because some of the other iPads are a little heavy. I know that sounds ridiculous but when you’re holding it and using it for a duration your hands will tire. I’m a woman so it’s significant to me & adding a case makes it even more heavier.Basically this iPad is a workhorse you have the best of both worlds you’re not missing out on anything of significance that the pro versions may offer in my own personal opinion and with the accessories you can make it an actual laptop. So happy with this purchase its actually the perfect fit for me bc of its versatility. You can easily use portable or setting up a small home workstation. Just perfection.

I just upgraded from an old iPad 5 which was handed down to me. This thing is 100x better in every way. M1 processor, 8 GB of RAM, large beautiful matte screen with no air gap. I can do everything I want with ease and without fear of apps crashing. I saved money for a while to get this and I am not disappointed. The only downside is the position of the front facing camera. It should have been like the iPad 10. It’s ok with me though, I use FaceTime on my phone basically all the time and tilting to portrait mode is no big deal for everything this has to offer. If you’re looking to upgrade, you can’t go wrong with the iPad Air 5!

This iPad Air was a replacement for an iPad Pro I bought a few years ago. To me Apple is concentrating on appearance, at the expense of practicality.The screen is outstanding. Colors “pop” and the refresh rate is great.I prefer the Home button over the side button. I always knew where it was. It worked no matter what angle I used. The side button is on one corner, and I have to grab it with both hands to find it. That’s okay, most of the time. But sometimes I want to flip it on without actually holding it.And swiping to close apps is much more awkward than simply pressing a button. For one, you have to swipe right through the Dock, which seems awkward.The screen has bezels that are minimal. I get it that this looks cool. But the problem is that it is very easy to open new screens when holding it. If my thumb bumps a link to another web page I find myself baited into an offer I neither intended nor desired.Scrolling. is often a pain because the scroll bars are too thin.I wonder whether the people who design these products actually use them?

Replaced my original iPad Mini
The iPad 2 was my first iPad, I moved on to the original iPad Air and then the iPad mini. I’m not crazy to upgrade to the latest iPad so I have to base my experience off some older devices. Other iOS devices include the Apple Pencil 2, iPhone XR and I also own a 2019 Mac Book Pro.It seems every time I open a new Apple device I always find myself smiling simply by unboxing the item. Definitely held true with this device. Before making this purchase I balanced the features and functions of this iPad Air Gen5 with the iPad Pro and the latest iPad mini offered in May 2022. Balancing the performance and features, I found the iPad Air to be the best compromise. I liked that it has the same processor as the iPad pro and I wanted a larger display than my previous iPad Mini. I opted for the 256 GB version which when comparing price, the 128 GB pro isn’t much more but I was trying to stay in a budget as this was going to be used as a study tool and if I decided I didn’t like my experience, I’d pass the device along to a family member.What I do with my iPad device:* Read* Take notes* Web browse* YouTubeEverything on this device is very snappy, as things always are with new iOS devices. The screen is quite vibrant and extremely responsive.Reading: I have not made this my daily driver for reading, but I am an Amazon Comixology subscriber and I find this experience is really nice. I generally read on my iPhone XR, as it is very easy to hold and always on me. I’ve read on the new iPad a few times, but still find myself reading books on my phone still as I don’t worry about falling asleep in bed with it and dropping it on the floor.Taking notes: Wow, this is my first time using the Apple Pencil, but what a great experience. I used the built-in notes app for a couple days but then downloaded GoodNotes 5. What a great combination for taking notes. My only possible gripe is a noticeable shadow appears around the tip of the Apple Pencil when moving it around, not sure if that’s a feature or an artifact of the LCD, but it annoys me on a rare occasion.Web browsing: Great experience as it is on other iPad devices. A really great feature I’ve found is taking a screenshot of a web page in reader view and capturing the full website and then importing into GoodNotes5 for markup.YouTube: I can have YouTube open to the side and take notes while watching an instructional video, very handy.Overall, it’s a great device. I didn’t need a better camera (iPad Pro), as I don’t take many pictures with any of my devices. The iPad Pro offers a better screen resolution and a higher frame rate, I don’t think I need it for my use though. The Mini would be a little more portable, but I’d still have to put it in a bag to carry it around so I think for the price the iPad Air 5th gen is the overall best choice for me.

This is my third and best iPad since 2016. Way better than my Pro of a few years ago. It’s got lots of RAM, 8 GB, the lack of which was a failing point in my previous iPads.I specifically chose this model because of its RAM and because I’m old-school and wanted Touch ID. This power button Touch ID is fantastic, much better than the previous home button Touch ID. It has worked flawlessly so far. I don’t use an Apple Pencil. I do use a keyboard case I found here on Amazon that is also fantastic. I put a glass screen protector on it and the touch is still perfect.

Working great
This was a quick buy purchase for me because my other iPad took a ride in our washer!! Yes, our washer!! (Sigh). My lovely daughter brings it with her to the bathroom, and set it down on top of the dirty clothes basket in their bathroom. Other clothes got stacked on top. When she went to do the laundry, she poured the whole basket into the wash. Long story short- she found it when she went to the put the clothes in the dryer. Anywhos… needed a new one, so this one it was. I like it. The color is nice. Battery lasts a long time. Although, I haven’t used it much bc I the daughter always has it. Yes, she learned her lesson!!!!!

This thing is nice! The m1 chip is probably overkill, but I dont care. Compared to my old 6th gen Ipad this thing rips. The only thing I wished it had was promotion for the screen. Not having 120hz seems sad in 2023. I also want to comment on the fact I bought this from amazon warehouse in condition used – good. I took a risk since there was no other details about the condition. I will say this thing looks and feels new. It did not come with the original box, but it came with all the correct accessories. Really happy with it, but if you are looking at one used just know ymmv.

The setup process was quick for me, all I needed to do was hold me iphone near it and it automatically connected and downloaded all my data. I purchased an IPad so I could better my skills as a digital artist, and this IPad as well as an Apple Pencil really helped me grow. I have always used Amazon refurbished for most of not all my technological needs and I was not surprised at how satisfying this product was. There is no screen lag, no external or internal marks, and the quality of the front and back camera are immaculate. Also a fun fact with this purchase you can get up to 3 months of free Apple TV+.
